Practice Intuitive Tune Out to Tune In

I get it..life happens. We aren't always able (or willing) to sit and OHM for hours or set aside meditation time regularly. So I have created a bit of a helping hand to assist you getting IN to where you can HEAR your inner self again without having to join an ashram, yoga class or climb mount Kurama.

Ok here we go! Remember it's not about the doing here...it's about the BEING here. Give yourself time, effort and love.

For 5 days I want you to dedicate 5 minutes of each day to tune-in. Block it out on your calendar and set a timer for your tune-in.

* *Find a comfortable , quiet spot to sit (don't lie down, you'll likely fall asleep)

* *Place your right hand on your heart and your left on your belly. The left hand receives the power to the belly (solar plexus) and feeds it directly to the heart and the right hand emanates it outwards.

* *Close your eyes (of course read all this before doing that!). FEEL your hand on your heart- notice how your hand feels on your chest. Notice how your breathing feels. Notice how your heart feels-how fast or slow it is beating.

**Feel your hand on your belly-notice how it feels. Heavy or light, its movement whilst you breath.

** Take 5 deep breaths.

** Ask yourself: What am I feeling right now in this moment? What does my body want to tell me?

Listen and continue breathing, feeling every breath throughout your whole body. Notice any thoughts that arise. Don't climb into them, just return to focusing on what you are doing.

**Once the timer dings, gently open your eyes.

Now I want you to write down in your journal about your experience. You can simply notice but putting things into a journal helps you to focus more on what is taking place and becomes a point of reference for your spiritual growth.

Notice: Any tingling in your body? Any digestive noises? Cricks, creaks, muscle tension-anything at all. Also note what it was like to be alone with yourself in that moment. What thoughts came up? Pictures? Smells? Feelings? Finally, what can you learn about yourself from these 5 minutes?

Thank yourself for showing up and be proud of doing so.

What you are doing may not make sense at first. It was more about listening and aligning than deciphering what was going on. This practice is a simple yet powerful way to learn how to start tuning in and becoming connected to your inner self (your soul), the real you! Once you begin learning how to truly listen to your "self" you can become more connected with your soul.

Commit to just 5 days and I promise you will feel much more connected to your body, your mind and your soul!!!

Ideally don't quit after the five days but keep it up as a regular practice. It takes you longer to order your morning latte so yes you absolutely can commit to 5 minutes every day. The more you practice tuning in the more you will begin to understand your inner self and begin to recognize when your intuition speaks to you.

Here are a few ways to help you in understanding how to recognize it:

In order to be able to use your intuition, you must be able to recognize it when it speaks to you. Intuition usually isn't loud or demanding, it is subtle and communicates in different ways for different people so don't go by what everyone else does-it won't work for you. The universe speaks to you in a way YOU can understand and relate to. It will NOT yell to get over your chaos.

For example, you may receive visual messages, such as images that appear in quick flashes or visions that unfold slowly, like a movie.

Or your intuition might speak to you as a hunch, a thought, or in words. You may even be able to enter into a dialogue with your intuition to get more information and clarity.

Alternatively, your intuition may speak to you in physical sensations, such as goose bumps, discomfort in your gut, a feeling of relief, or a sour taste in your mouth.

You may receive intuitive messages through your emotions, such as feelings of uneasiness or confusion when your inner wisdom is steering you away from something - or feelings of euphoria and profound peace when you're being guided down a path that will lead you to greater personal joy and abundance.

Sometimes, intuition messages are simply a deep sense of knowing and certainty. If you've ever felt that you knew something to be true in the depths of your heart or soul, chances are it was a message from your intuition.

DEEPEN YOUR INTUITION THROUGH MEDITATION

I know, I said we weren't going to meditate but....in order to access your intuition you need to deepen your connection to it-and meditation is an excellent tool for this. You already know how-remember the 5 minutes? Well, that was meditation! Regular meditation will help you clear your mind of distractions and teach you how to better recognize the subtle impulses from within. You LEARN-you. It's not how you meditate it's that you DO it. Do whatever takes your mind away from the outside world.

Don't try to control the thoughts...you can't. Think of the thoughts as cars on the highway. You can't control who is driving on it but you CAN control what car you climb into. If you do...recognize it and go back to the present moment with your belly. The more you do this the more you will arrive at a place to give your intuition center stage. Be good to yourself...every day is different.

Your most valuable wisdom comes when you are most open to receiving it.

ASK QUESTIONS

Receiving wisdom from your intuition shouldn't be a passive experience. Get specific about the information you need and what kind of answers you are looking for. The more clearly you present your questions to y our innate wisdom, the clearer the answers will be. Just do not hold onto the expectation of HOW it will come about. The HOW and WHY are up to the universe...not us.

WRITE DOWN YOUR ANSWERS

Intuitive messages are subtle and can fade from your conscious mind very quickly unless you take action to record them. In fact, neuroscience research indicates that intuitive insights not captured with approximately 37 seconds will likely never be recalled exactly again until that which is meant for you shows itself another way. Remember...that which is yours "cannot pass you by."

Journal writing is very effective in accessing your intuition and capture its wisdom. I suggest you make a regular practice of journaling for just 5 or 10 minutes a day-you'll be amazed at the clarity of what comes through! Breadcrumbs of intuitive "hits" will start mapping out your direction.

TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION

Have you heard God helps those who help themselves? Well this is precisely what the universe tells us. It rewards us for taking action. When you act on the information you receive from your intuitive hit/source of wisdom, you open the channel between the subconscious and conscious mind to receive more of the same intuitive message hits. The more it opens the stronger and easier it is to hear and take action.

LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - TRUST YOURSELF!!!

The more faith you have in your intuition-the greater the results. Whether you want to make better decisions, solve problems, create a productive plan for your life, achieve goals or just understand yourself better...you will achieve this faster and more effectively when you TUNE IN to your intuition and listen to what it tells/shows you. It will guide you and tell you what the universe has to say. And remember the universe cannot lie.

Trusting your intuition is all about trust in you as well as the universe. The more you do-the more successful it will be. BELIEVE IN YOU.

A note of wisdom here: Developing your intuition and connection to your inner self and the universe can be a difficult challenge at first, especially if you've spent a lifetime second-guessing, not trusting, programmed, or dictated how to think and make decisions. If there are too many "other" voices in your head: fear, anxiety, self doubt, blame or judgement , other people, books, tv etc. drowning out your intuition...connecting and hearing can be harder. This is where "guides" come in. As you develop intuition you will learn you are never alone. There are insurmountable guides just waiting for us to "tag them in. " All we need do is...ASK.
